Gallery Internship
The Amelie A. Wallace Gallery invites applications from Department of Visual Arts students who seek an on-campus internship. Students will gain hands-on experience in the operation of an art gallery. Duties include monitoring the gallery, assisting in the installation and de-installation of exhibitions, promotion of exhibitions via social media, archival work, and other tasks integral to mounting exhibitions and presenting public events. Students with electronic media skills will be assigned design projects, such as creating promotional materials and building a website. Some moderate physical labor is required. Interns must complete 120 hours per semester in order to receive a grade. Interested students should contact the Gallery Director, Hyewon Yi (yih@oldwestbury.edu).
Work Study
The Amelie A. Wallace Gallery invites applications from students who are eligible for Work-Study. Former successful Work-Study students may apply as well. Duties include monitoring the gallery during visitor hours and assisting the Director with preparations for exhibitions and public events. Interested students should contact Jolanda Hairston, Financial Aid Work Study Coordinator (hairstonj@oldwestbury.edu), after which all applicants, whether new or returning, must arrange to be interviewed by the Gallery Director, Hyewon Yi (yih@oldwestbury.edu).
