I worked with the theme of domestic violence, through the eyes of women. Typically thought of as women’s work, the technique of appliqué and embroidery allowed me to create a narrative of a woman caught in a domestic violence situation. As violence against women is unfortunately a common issue, this collection of pieces shows that although difficult, women are powerful and have the strength to break out of their situations.
